The Atkins Diet is called the Atkins Nutritional Approach.

It is a low-carbohydrate diet promoted by Robert Atkins. The essence of this program is to lower carbohydrates intake. Doctor Atkins coming from the United States claimed that we shouldn’t eat fats and protein together during a meal. Results of this program are visible in a short period of time. We can lose around two kilograms in a week.

The Atkins diet consists of four phases:

  • Introduction
  • Balancing
  • Pre-Maintenance
  • Lifetime Maintenance
