Mediterranean Diet

by Richard Kozinski

The Mediterranean Diet is not only a diet but also a lifestyle which guarantees a long and healthy life. The main idea is to eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, nuts, healthy grains, fish, olive oil and small amounts of meat and dairy. Moreover, you should do some exercises every day.

It is generally known as cheap and simple diet which helps to lose additional kilograms in a healthy way.

This diet is based mostly on consuming plant, including fruits and vegetables, potatoes, whole-grain bread, beans, nuts, and seeds. You can eat yogurt, cheese, poultry, and eggs in small portions. You should eat fish and seafood at least twice a week.

"Good" fats are olives, extra-virgin olive oil, nuts, sunflower seeds, and avocados instead of butter or margarine. You should use olive oil a lot while cooking. You can reach for herbs and spices to add flavour. Dessert is usually fruit. You can eat sweets and red meats occasionally.
